Coming Clean: Week 5

What a topsy-turvy week, with the teams coming off a bye looking a bit rusty, and with some other teams using this week to gather momentum. The Broncos once again showed that they’re the team to beat in the AFC while the Patriots and Bengals looked like they were involved in a playoff game. New Orleans escaped with their lives at home against Tampa Bay, while the Alex Smith homecoming didn’t quite go as planned.

Every Tuesday I’ll be reviewing my selections from the previous week. I call it Coming Clean.

MY PICKS

GREEN BAY over Minnesota
DALLAS over Houston
DETROIT over Buffalo
CLEVELAND over Tennessee
BALTIMORE over Indianapolis
NEW ORLEANS over Tampa Bay
ATLANTA over NY Giants
PHILADELPHIA over St. Louis
CHICAGO over Carolina
PITTSBURGH over Jacksonville
DENVER over Arizona
SAN DIEGO over NY Jets
KANSAS CITY over San Francisco
CINCINNATI over New England
SEATTLE over Washington
(9-6 weekly; 45-31 overall)

MY SURVIVAL

Well, I was lured in by how absolutely dominating and stifling that CINCINNATI defense was… until Sunday night when they were decimated by a New England team that had just gotten blown out by Kansas City. It’s the khameleon Bengals once again, and once again they tripped me up in survival football. Luckily for me it is double-elimination, but now I have to be perfect from here on out. It just proves once more that there’s a reason they play the games. Hopefully you went with Green Bay or San Diego, two other teams I touted going into this week.

With Jimmy Graham getting hurt for the Saints, Benjamin Watson would be a great add off the waiver wire too if Graham misses any time to injury.
