Coming Clean: Week 6

My favorite team completely destroyed the Giants in all facets of the game on Sunday night, so no matter what else happened during the week in football, I’m pleased. I also happened to pick them to win in my picks this week, so that’s a bonus as well. Some strange happenings this week elsewhere, though, as the Cowboys defeated the Seahawks in Seattle, the Raiders looked like an actual NFL team, and absolutely no one watched the Titans/ Jaguars tilt in Tennessee. Oh, and the Jets scored some points. Go figure.

Every Tuesday I’ll be reviewing my selections from the previous week. I call it Coming Clean.

MY PICKS

HOUSTON over Indianapolis
BUFFALO over New England
CINCINNATI over Carolina
CLEVELAND over Pittsburgh
JACKSONVILLE over Tennessee
MIAMI over Green Bay
MINNESOTA over Detroit
DENVER over NY Jets
BALTIMORE over Tampa Bay
SAN DIEGO over Oakland
CHICAGO over Atlanta
WASHINGTON over Arizona
SEATTLE over Dallas
PHILADELPHIA over NY Giants
SAN FRANCISCO over St. Louis
(7-7-1 weekly; 52-38-1 overall)

MY SURVIVAL

While the Bengals defense continues to take steps backwards (giving up over 35 points for the second week in a row — and at home even!), the Broncos continue to roll, handling the Jets, albeit in a little closer than expected fashion. I went with SAN DIEGO, and they made it an extremely close one with Oakland. On paper this one should have been a blowout, but the Raiders kept getting touchdowns, and I kept biting my nails. Luckily the Chargers got the turnover when they needed it, and I stayed alive in my double-elimination survival league.
